What causes rectal prolapse and does it require surgery all the time?

Rectal prolapse might be partial, encompassing only the internal lining of the bowel (mucosa). Or, it might be complete, encompassing the whole wall of the rectum. For maximum adults, surgery is used to repair the rectum as there is no other effective treatment some years ago. Kids with rectal prolapse do not always require surgery, unless their prolapse does not recover over time. In babies, prolapse often vanishes without treatment. However, these days, there are a lot of people who are embracing the idea of opting for Ayurvedic or herbal rectal prolapse treatment.

What causes rectal prolapse?

Many things upsurge the probability of developing rectal prolapse. Risk factors for kids include:

Risk factors for adults consist of:

  • Straining during bowel movements owing to constipation.
  • Tissue impairment triggered by surgery or childbirth.
  • Weakness of pelvic floor muscles that ensues naturally with age.

Does rectal prolapse require surgery?

Your doctor will detect rectal prolapse by asking you queries about your symptoms and previous medical problems and surgeries. No, rectal prolapse doesn’t always require surgery. Nowadays, people can treat it via non-surgical route i.e. by taking herbal medicines or Ayurvedic treatment. This option is quite safe and effective in nature as compared to the surgical route.
